Your license key is in the email from Dodo Payments. Setup takes about a minute.

  1. Run the installer

    Open Terminal and run:

    npx getagentpets init

    It connects every agent it finds (Claude Code, OpenCode and omp), installs the small helper that runs on your computer, and puts the Chrome extension in ~/.agentpets/extension.

    On macOS the helper then starts automatically at login, the folder’s path is copied to your clipboard, and Chrome opens its extensions page for you.

  2. Load the extension in Chrome

    1. Go to chrome://extensions (type it into the address bar).
    2. Turn on Developer mode, top right.
    3. Drag the extension folder onto the page, or click Load unpacked and choose ~/.agentpets/extension.

    Tip: .agentpets is a hidden folder. In the Load unpacked picker on a Mac, press ⌘⇧G, paste the path (it’s already on your clipboard) and press Return.

    Using Arc, Brave or Edge? Open that browser’s extensions page and follow the same steps.

  3. Pin it and paste your key

    Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin Agent Pets. Open it, paste the license key from your Dodo Payments email, and you’re set. One key works in up to 3 browsers.

    Now start Claude Code, OpenCode or omp: each session gets its own pet. Updates install automatically.

Troubleshooting

No pets appear

Check that the helper is running and the extension is connected:

npx getagentpets status

If it says Agent Pets isn’t initialised or the helper isn’t reachable, run npx getagentpets init again.

The extension says it’s locked

Open Agent Pets from the toolbar and paste the license key from your Dodo Payments email. Can’t find it? Search your inbox for “Dodo Payments” or write to us.

Linux or Windows

The helper doesn’t start automatically there yet. Start it yourself and keep that terminal open while you work:

npx getagentpets start

Uninstall

This removes the agent hooks and plugins, stops and removes the helper, and deletes the extension files:

npx getagentpets uninstall

Then remove Agent Pets from chrome://extensions.
